TITLE: Systems Engineer IV

DUTIES: Work within a team to provide support to Charter’s Spectrum Guide, which is comprised of large-scale hybrid infrastructure on cloud, local, and shared platform services. Maintain and enhance cable TV components, including Charter’s advanced video and signal processing hardware, software, and electrical systems that include over 6,000 servers across the Video Operations enterprise. Log in to cable set top boxes to perform troubleshooting on Cable TV components. Maintain up to 14 different code work streams of Spectrum Guide and its components in released markets. Troubleshoot and resolve issues and outages of Spectrum Guide services in an operations environment. Lead a bundle deployment rotation schedule to over 80 markets. Conduct peer reviews of junior engineers preparing for Spectrum Guide upgrades. Approve merge requests of all code managed by Git for production markets. Validate and deconflict new configuration and Methods of Procedure production market code upgrades. Create Methods of Procedure for business as usual activities and technical debt procedures. Perform system administration of the Video Operations servers utilizing Linux. Develop automation scripts for tools using Python, Shell, and Java and automate processes utilizing Ansible and Chef automation software. Perform cloud computing in AWS.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Video, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. 3 years of experience performing Linux system administration. 2 years of experience developing automation scripts for tools using Python, Shell, or Java; and logging into cable Set Top boxes to perform troubleshooting on Cable TV components. 1 year of experience automating processes using Ansible or Chef; and performing cloud computing. A hybrid (in office and remote work) arrangement is available.

Salaries depend on geography, experience, and education; negotiations begin at $101,483.

SALARY: $101,483 to $156,600 per year

HOURS: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (40+ hours/week)

The pay for this position has a salary range of $101,483.00 to $156,600.00. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location.
